Summer pictures

On Monday we went fossil hunting at the Penn-Dixie site in Hamburg

James immediately figured out how to spot the little corals/trilobites and filled up his bucket
Felix mostly filled his bucket with rocks. Kerplink, kerplank, kerplunk
It was a little windy
Everything we dug up was from the Devonian, so no T-Rex bones, unfortunately
A hard day of excavation justifies an ice cream stop

Felix-Vanilla and rainbow sprinkles. Owen-Cotton candy and chocolate chips (?) James-Banana and sprinkles
Some of James' fossil treasures

Corals, moss animals

Cnidaria, and possibly some primitive squid

He took an entire afternoon to build his LEGO "museum exhibit"

He doesn't know yet that his mother has sworn these fossils are not going to be in the house permanently

Clam shell fragments, brachiopods

Owen's haul was also impressive, but we haven't let him get into them yet

The full James collection
From one of our many Bay Park hikes. We must always find a log for a snack spot
It was a good year to get a sprinkler

One of many Lake Ontario visits

Owen learned how to climb the walls

So this is how he spends a good bit of every day now

The biker

"I'm going to learn how to swim if it kills me"
